Colorado Responds To Religious Taunts At BYU Game

(Provo, UT) — Officials at the University of Colorado are responding after religious slurs were reportedly hurled at Saturday’s game between the Buffaloes and BYU. Witnesses say Colorado fans chanted “f- the Mormons” and other expletives during the game, which were picked up by ESPN microphones. Some witnesses say the chant was repeated half-a-dozen times. CU Chancellor Justin Schwartz and athletic director Rick George issued a statement Sunday condemning the incident. They say attending sporting events at CU Boulder is a “privilege” and that those engaged in the conduct will be held accountable.
