Business Leaders Call On State Congress To Pass Gov. Cox’s Homeless Bill

(Salt Lake City, UT) — Business leaders in Salt Lake City are supporting Governor Cox’s homelessness proposal. The plan would see services expand spending by just over 190-million dollars. Most of it would go to fund emergency shelters. City leaders like Salt Lake Chamber CEO Derek Miller credit Cox’s decision to add 600 temporary winter shelter beds and increased enforcement of no camping laws to city improvements this winter. The budget will need to be decided by the legislature in the next eight days.
