SALT LAKE CITY-Tuesday, Aimee Winder Newton selected Utah State Auditor John Dougall as her running mate as she runs for the gubernatorial seat of governor on the Republican ticket.
This announcement was made at 8:50 am Tuesday and she cited Dougall’s knowledge of tax policy, combined with challenging bloated government programs, as rationale for her decision.
Dougall has served as state auditor since 2013 and co-sponsored the 2007 tax reform bill that unanimously passed in the Beehive State.
Winder Newton is currently a member of the Salt Lake County Council.
