QUETZALTENANGO, Guatemala-Per a Monday morning report from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, a Honduran sister missionary was kidnapped during her missionary service in nearby Guatemala.
The Honduran national is currently serving in the Guatemala Quetzaltenango Mission and was reportedly kidnapped on the evening of March 14.
Church spokesman Daniel Woodruff said Church officials in the area worked with local authorities and she has since been released.
Woodruff further confirmed the Church is grateful for the resolution of this situation. The Salt Lake City-based faith, he continued, hopes to “meet all of her needs moving forward.”
