SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Authorities say one person is dead and an officer has been injured in a shootout at a Salt Lake City apartment complex.
Salt Lake City police say they were called to the building Monday afternoon on a “psychiatric problem.”
Shots were fired upon their arrival. One officer was taken to the hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The person who shot the officer was killed by police.
No information has been released about the victim or which officers fired their weapons. The Unified Police Department of Greater Salt Lake is investigating the incident.
