MONTICELLO, Utah-A woman died and a man suffered critical injuries after a June 15 rollover crash in San Juan County.
The Monticello-based San Juan County Sheriff’s Department made this statement Tuesday.
The crash occurred on West Summit Road, east of Monticello per a Facebook post from the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office.
A passerby came across a Dodge Ram that had rolled over. Two men and a woman were in the truck which was traveling at high speed when the driver lost control of the vehicle.
The truck rolled approximately three times, per the sheriff’s office.
A passenger in the car, 38-year-old Stephanie Zimmerman, died from her injuries at the scene.
The driver was identified as 41-year-old Jared Ehlers, who was ejected from the vehicle and suffered injuries.
He was flown to St. Mary’s Medical Center of Grand Junction, Colo.
The front passenger of the car, a 30-year-old man, was treated for minor injuries at San Juan Hospital of Monticello and released later that day per the sheriff’s office.
He was wearing a seat belt and was not ejected from the vehicle.
The sheriff’s office reported the incident is currently under investigation. No further information was provided about the case.
