SIOUX FALLS, S.D.(AP) — Baylor Scheierman had a career-high 23 points as South Dakota State defeated Utah State 83-59 on Thursday night in the Bad Boy Mowers Crossover Classic.
Douglas Wilson had 16 points and Alex Arians added 13 points for South Dakota State (1-1). David Wingett had 11 points.
Neemias Queta had 12 points, three assists and three blocks for the Aggies (0-2). Marco Anthony added 10 points.
OREM, Utah-In a game that was scheduled on the fly Thursday morning, Utah Valley men’s basketball surged past NCAA Division II foe Adams State 100-75. Fardaws Aimaq posted 24 points and 18 rebounds on 11-18 from the field in his debut for the Wolverines as UVU improved to 1-0 on the season.
The Wolverines shot 61.4 percent for the game with Jamison Overton (22 points, 5 assists, 10-13 shooting) and Trey Woodbury (22 points, 9-13 shooting, 4-5 on 3-pointers) also bolstered Utah Valley’s cause.
Trace Dimeff had 17 points on 6-10 from the field and 4-7 on 3-pointers in the loss for the Grizzlies, who fell 88-60 to Weber State Wednesday evening.
UVU next faces BYU Saturday evening at the Marriott Center. Adams State next plays December 5 at Colorado-Colorado Springs in their Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference debut.
