This Thursday, October 24th the Heber Valley Orchestra will play with Michael Martin Murphey at the Wasatch High School auditorium with the Heber Valley Western Music & Cowboy Poetry Gathering. Chris Balla will be directing the orchestra, with over thirty local musicians, who have been practicing for several weeks in preparation for the evening. With songs such as Wildfire, What’s Forever For and Carolina in the Pines, Murphey brings a mix of country, bluegrass and classic cowboy to the stage. His music consists of 33 albums and 46 singles. Having first charted in 1972, Michael Martin Murphey has been singing and sharing his love of the American Cowboy for over 40 years. Thursday night is also Community Night at the gathering, where patrons can visit booth vendors and listen to cowboy music and cowboy poetry on stages in the library and cafeteria at no cost from 5 – 9 pm.
