Expect Crowded Roads, Closed Campsites During Holiday Weekend

(Salt Lake City, UT)  –  State transportation officials are expecting lots of traffic on Utah’s roads during the Memorial Day weekend.  A spokesman for the Utah Department of Transportation says delays of 15-minutes to a half-hour could be typical this weekend and could be even worse if there is an accident.  Triple-A Utah estimates three-million travelers will be on the roads this weekend in eight western states, the most they’ve seen since 2005.  Once they are on the roads, Utahns will have fewer places to go this year.  Forest rangers and parks officials say campgrounds in some mountain areas remained closed due to the high volume of snow that Utah received this year. Â
