Eight Utes Named to Pac-12 Baseball All-Academic Team

SAN FRANCISCO – Led by second team selections Chandler Anderson and Ellis Kelly, eight Utah players were named to the Pac-12 Baseball All-Academic team, announced today by the conference office.

A sophomore business administration major, Anderson has a 3.54 grade point average. He finished second on the team with a .336 batting average. Kelly, a senior economics major, has a 3.55 grade point average. He hit .294 and had a .987 fielding percentage at the shortstop position. It is the first selection to the team for both players.

Senior Dallas Carroll, junior Wade Gulden, junior Josh Lapiana, junior Trenton Stoltz, senior Josh Rose and junior Tanner Thomas all earned honorable mention honors. Rose and Carroll are both three-time all-academic honorees while Stoltz is a two-time selection.

To be eligible for selection to the all-academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade point average and be either a starter or significant contributor.
