OAKLAND (AP) — The Cleveland Cavaliers have a chance to rest before Game 4 of the NBA Finals. But they also need another plan to stop the undefeated Golden State Warriors, who blew out LeBron James and company on Sunday with a 132-113 win. James finished with a triple-double and 29 points. But Kevin Durant had 33 points and Curry had a triple double and 32 points.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) —The Stanley Cup Final has some bad blood brewing heading into Game 4 on Monday night. The best-of-seven series for the NHL championship has the makings of becoming a battle royale. Pittsburgh, the defending champs, went down in defeat Saturday when the Predators scored five straight goals in a 5-1 rout. All-Star defenseman P.K. Subban (SOO’-ban) predicted a comeback and says Pittsburgh captain Sidney Crosby told him he has bad breath. Crosby says Subban made that up. The Pens lead the series 2-1.
CHAPEL HILL, NC (AP) — Best known as the school where Stephen Curry played his college basketball, Davidson is quickly making a name for itself in baseball. The Wildcats from the 2,000-student private school 20 minutes from Charlotte, North Carolina, became the sixth No. 4 regional seed to advance to a super regional in the college baseball championship tournament. They did it by beating No. 2 national seed North Carolina 2-1 on Sunday night — their second win over the Tar Heels in three days.
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Derek Fisher has issued a statement saying he and his girlfriend, former “Basketball Wives” reality star Gloria Govan, are “beyond grateful” that they are both OK after Fisher’s car flipped on a Los Angeles freeway on Sunday. The statement didn’t mention Fisher’s arrest on a suspicion of DUI charge. The crash happened early Sunday.
DUBLIN, Ohio (AP) — He’s smiling, sort of. Low-key PGA pro Jason Dufner will deposit a $1,566,000 check he earned late Sunday at the Memorial tournament run by icon Jack Nicklaus. Dufner capped off a 68 with a 30-foot par putt on the final hole for a three-shot victory. A win didn’t seem to be in the cards on Saturday when he shot a 5-over-par 77. Dufner says he knew he was still in the mix because the tournament is 72 holes and that a “lot of things can happen out there.”
