GREENSBORO, N.C. – Utah senior third baseman Dallas Carroll was a first-team selection to the West ABCA/Rawlings All-Region team, announced today by the American Baseball Coaches Association.
The teams are voted on by members of the ABCA and the process is led by the ABCA NCAA Div. I All-America Committee. As a first-team selection, Carroll will be nominated for All-America honors.
Carroll, who was drafted in the ninth round of the 2017 MLB Draft by the Milwaukee Brewers, was an All-Pac-12 selection and named to the Pac-12 All-Defensive team this past season. He was one of the top hitters in the league this year, leading Utah and ranking in the top five in the Pac-12 in several major hitting categories. He led Utah and ranks fourth in the Pac-12 in batting average. Carroll is ranked second in the Pac-12 in slugging percentage (.591) and on-base percentage (.465) while ranking third in the Pac-12 in hits per game (1.43) and is fourth in the league in RBI (52).
Utah’s last ABCA all-region player was C.J. Cron in 2011.
