Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Releases Rendering For Pittsburgh Temple

CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, Pa.-Tuesday, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints ensued in a busy day by announcing the location for its Pittsburgh Pennsylvania Temple.

This temple, which was announced in April 2020 by Church President Russell M. Nelson, is to be constructed on a 5.80-acre site at Cranberry Township, Pa.

This is roughly 22 miles northwest of downtown Pittsburgh.

Plans are calling for a single-story temple of approximately 32,000 square feet with a center spire.

No groundbreaking date has been set for the temple.

Upon completion and subsequent dedication, this will be Pennsylvania’s second temple.

The Philadelphia Temple was dedicated September 18, 2016 by President Henry B. Eyring of The First Presidency.

Pennsylvania consists of 52,290 Latter-day Saints in 12 stakes and 108 congregations. The Church has missions based in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh as well.
