Wednesday covid-19 reports for Utah

SALT LAKE CITY-Wednesday, covid-19 statistics for Utah were updated by the state department of health.

77.98 percent of covid-19 cases statewide (200,943-257,647) are recovered.

21.56 percent of covid-19 cases statewide (55,558-257,647) are active cases.

In the past 24 hours, new recoveries (3,992) exceeded both new net recorded cases (2,612) and new active cases (1,403).

There are 145,385 more recoveries than active cases statewide per Wednesday’s report.

Incidentally, since November 25, Wednesday has been the only day weekly in Utah where recoveries have lagged well behind new net recorded cases in any given 24-hour period.

December 23, this was not the case.

Of the 10,327 all-time hospitalizations, 560 are currently hospitalized, or 5.42 percent.

Of the 560, 198 are currently in ICU or 35.4 percent of ICU occupancy statewide.

89.6 percent of ICU beds statewide are occupied and 92 percent of ICU referral center beds.

1,196 deaths have been attributed to covid-19 statewide or 0.464 percent of all-time cases in Utah.

Wasatch County schools have 67 active cases out of 433 all-time cases, or 15.47 percent. This currently ranks No. 10 in Utah.

Cumulatively, Wasatch County has 2,998 all-time covid-19 cases, 74 all-time hospitalizations and 15 all-time deaths attributed to the virus.
