SAN FRANCISCO-Monday, Utah football tailback Ty Jordan and kicker Jadon Redding were honored as the Pac-12 freshman of the week and special teams player of the week honored respectively.
In last Saturday’s 30-24 win over Oregon State, Jordan ran for a career-high 167 yards on 27 carries (6.2 yards per tote) and scored his first touchdown as a Ute with a 1-yard scoring run.
Jordan leads the Utes in carries (44), rushing yards (296) and all-purpose yards per game (123.3 yards per contest) this season.
Jordan ranks 13th nationally in yards per carry (6.73 yards) and leads all freshman in the nation in rushing yards (98.7 yards per game).
Jordan has produced four runs of 20+ yards this season in games against USC, Washington and Oregon State.
Against Oregon State, Redding made all three of his field goal attempts and all three of his PAT attempts.
Redding has made 14 career field goals for the Utes.
