SALT LAKE CITY-Monday, The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced four South American temples are advancing to Phase 1 of reopening November 23.

Phase 1 of temple reopening under the Church’s policy consists of living husband-and-wife sealings by appointment.

The following temples have advanced to Phase 1:

Arequipa Peru

Buenos Aires Argentina

Lima Peru

Trujillo Peru

Furthermore, the Church has paused the progression of the Sacramento and San Diego California Temples because of burgeoning covid-19 spread in those areas, the Church stated.

In other news from the Salt Lake City-based faith this past weekend, the Church has launched its 2020 Christmas initiative. A link is available here.
