SALT LAKE CITY-The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has announced the following changes in area leadership assignments in a letter dated October 30. The letter is signed by Church President Russell M. Nelson and his counselors in The First Presidency, first counselor President Dallin H. Oaks and second counselor Henry B. Eyring.
-Elder John A. McCune, the new second counselor in the Asia North Area Presidency, has been released for all assignments at Church headquarters. Elder McCune had been serving as the second counselor in the North America Northeast Area Presidency.
-Elder James A. Rasband is the first counselor in the Asia North Area Presidency. He had been previously serving as the second counselor in this presidency. The previous first counselor, Bishop L. Todd Budge, was called and sustained as the second counselor in the Presiding Bishopric at the October 2020 General Conference.
-Elder Kelly R. Johnson is the second counselor in the North American Northeast Area Presidency. Elder Johnson previously served as an Area Assistant. He will retain all of his previous assignments.
-Elder William K. Jackson has been called to serve as an Assistant Executive Director of the Missionary Department in addition to his other assignments.
-Elder Adrian Ochoa will serve as a Priesthood Adviser for Welfare and Self-Reliance Services and as a member of the JustServe Steering Committee in addition to his other assignments.
-Elder Lynn G. Robbins will serve as a member of the Welfare and Self-Reliance Executive Committee, in addition to his other assignments.
