SALT LAKE CITY-Friday, covid-19 statistics were updated for the state of Utah by the department of health.

73.6 percent of covid-19 cases in Utah (74,688-101,509) are recovered. This is an increase of 1,102 in the past 24 hours.

25.9 percent of covid-19 cases in Utah (26,254-101,509) are active cases. This increased by 854 in the past 24 hours.

For 19 consecutive days in the daily report, new recoveries have exceeded new active cases.

There are 48,834 more recoveries than active cases in Utah. This is an increase of 248 in the past 24 hours.

Concerning hospitalizations, 313 of the 4,939 recorded hospitalizations are currently active, or 6.34 percent.

Of the 313, 109 are in ICU or 34.82 percent. ICU occupancy in Utah is 75.7 percent per Friday’s report.

There have been 567 deaths attributed to covid-19 in Utah, an increase of four in the past 24 hours.

The death percentage continues to drop and is currently at 0.558 percent (567-101,509).

Wasatch County saw 19 new cases of covid-19 in the past 24 hours, increasing the total to 1,039.

The hospitalizations (42) and deaths (9) in Wasatch County remain unchanged in the past 24 hours.

The most recent death attributed to covid-19 in Wasatch County occurred October 14.
