SALT LAKE CITY-Wednesday, covid-19 reports for Utah were reported by the state department of health.
There have been 88,963 recorded cases of covid-19 in Utah. This is an increase of 1,144 in the past 24 hours.
940,687 Utahns have been tested for covid-19. This is an increase of 8,955 in the past 24 hours.
There have been 65,472 recoveries from covid-19 in Utah. This is an increase of 889 in the past 24 hours.
The current recovery percentage in Utah is 73.59 percent.
There are 22,964 active cases, an increase of 250 in the past 24 hours.
For the 12th time in the past 13 days, recoveries exceeded active cases. There are 42,778 more recoveries than active cases in Utah. This is an increase of 909 in the past 24 hours.
There have been 4,460 recorded hospitalizations for covid-19 in Utah. Of these, 259 are currently hospitalized or 5.8 percent.
Of these, 97 are in ICU or 37.4 percent. ICU is 72.3 percent occupied in Utah.
Wasatch County saw seven new cases of covid-19 in the past 24 hours, increasing the net total to 934 cases.
The hospitalizations (37) remain unchanged in the past 24 hours.
There was one new death recorded in Wasatch County, raising the net total to 9. Wasatch County Health Department health education/media relations coordinator Trudy Brereton confirmed this death was a woman in the 85+ range who died while hospitalized in Salt Lake County.
Furthermore, Brereton revealed Wednesday that the recovery rate in Wasatch County is 75.69 percent presently.
Utah’s death rate is 0.592 percent, down from Tuesday’s 0.595 percent despite the new death recorded in Wasatch County and four other deaths statewide.
