SALT LAKE CITY-Friday, statistics were updated for covid-19 in Utah by the state department of health.

There have been 83,290 recorded cases of covid-19 in Utah per  Friday’s report. This is an increase of 1,343 in the past 24 hours.

There have been 901,048 Utahns tested for covid-19. This represents an increase of 9,026 in the past 24 hours.

There are presently 61,326 recoveries from covid-19 in Utah. This is an increase of 1,106 recoveries, representing a new state record in a 24-hour span. The recovery percentage has increased to 73.6 percent.

There are currently 21,459 active cases, a net increase of 232 in the past 24 hours. The current active case percentage in Utah slightly decreased to 25.8 percent from Thursday’s 25.9 percent.

There are 39,867 more recovered cases than active cases in Utah per Friday’s report. This is a net increase of 874 in the past 24 hours.

There have been 4,220 recorded hospitalizations. Of these, 243 are currently hospitalized or 5.76 percent.

Of the 243, 86 are in ICU or 35.4 percent. ICU is presently 71.8 percent occupied per Friday’s report.

There have been 505 deaths attributed to covid-19 in Utah, an increase of four in the past 24 hours.

The current death percentage is 0.606 percent. This has steadily dropped over the course of the past month.

Wasatch County saw 9 new cases of covid-19 in the past 24 hours, raising the total to 886.

The hospitalizations (36) and deaths (8) attributed to covid-19 remain unchanged in the past 24 hours.

The most recent death attributed to covid-19 in Wasatch County was reported October 3.
