Thursday covid-19 report for Utah

SALT LAKE CITY-Thursday, covid-19 statistics were updated for Utah by the state department of health.

Per Thursday’s report, there have been 81,947 covid-19 cases in Utah. This is an increase of 1,501 in the past 24 hours.

There have been 892,022 Utahns tested for covid-19. This represents an increase of 10,582 Utahns in the past 24 hours.

There have been 60,220 recoveries from covid-19 in Utah. This is an increase of 931 in the past 24 hours. The recovery percentage for covid-19 in Utah is 73.5 percent.

There are currently 21,227 active cases in Utah, an increase of 566 in the past 24 hours. The current active case percentage in Utah is 25.9 percent.

For the sixth time in the past seven days, new covid-19 recoveries in Utah exceeded new active cases Thursday.

There are 38,993 more recoveries than active cases in Utah per Thursday’s report. This is an increase of 365 in the past 24 hours.

There have been 4,167 recorded hospitalizations for covid-19. Of these, 237 are currently hospitalized or 5.7 percent.

Of the 237, 86 are in ICU, or 36.3 percent. ICU is currently 73 percent occupied in Utah.

There have been 501 deaths attributed to covid-19 in Utah or 0.611 percent. The deaths attributed to covid-19 in Utah in the past 24 hours increased by five.

Wasatch County saw 10 new cases of covid-19 in the past 24 hours, raising the net total to 875 in Thursday’s report.

The hospitalizations (36) and deaths (8) attributed to covid-19 remain unchanged in Wasatch County in the past 24 hours.

The most recent death attributed to covid-19 in Wasatch County occurred October 3.
