UINTA-WASATCH-CACHE NATIONAL FOREST, Utah-Wednesday, the Heber-Kamas Ranger District of the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest gave a recreational update concerning roads and amenities.
The following roads are still open:
U.S. Highway 40
Strawberry River-FR049
Strawberry Bay Road-FR131
Trout Creek-FR084
Clyde Creek-FR134
Mud Creek-FR150
Squaw Creek-FR110
Indian Creek-FR042
Trail Creek-FR131
*COOP Creek-FR082 is closed for the season
S.R. Highway 35
All roads are open, including Cedar Hollow (FR202), Mill Hollow (FR054), Soapstone (FR037), Duchesne Ridge (FR091) and Silver Meadow (FR174)
Mirror Lake Highway
All roads are open. These include Wide Hollow (FR080), Upper Setting (FR034), Taylors Fork (FR332), Norway Flats (FRo35), Soapstone (FR037), Iron Mine (FR414), Spring Canyon (FR041), Murdock Basin (FR137) and Broadhead Meadows (FR416).
Weber Canyon Road
All roads are open. These include South Fork (FR031), Smith Morehouse (FR033), Mud Lake Flats (FR030) and Gardeners Fork (FR055).
The Heber Ranger District Office is closed. The Kamas Ranger District Office, located at 50 E. Center, Kamas, is open Monday-Friday from 8:00 am-4:30 pm.
The Strawberry Visitors Center is closed.
The following picnic areas all remain open:
-Whiskey Springs Picnic Area
-Beaver Creek Picnic Area
-Upper Provo Bridge Picnic Area
-Mirror Lake Picnic Area
The following overlooks are open
-Provo River Overlook
-Duchesne Tunnel Overlook
-Slate Gorge Overlook
-Provo River Falls Overlook
-Bald Mountain Overlook
-Hayden Peak Overlook
All of the dump stations, Soapstone, Lost Creek, Strawberry Bay and Soldier Creek are closed for the season.
