SALT LAKE CITY-Monday, covid-19 statistics were updated for the state of Utah by the state department of health.
Since statistics began being kept, there have been 58,438 recorded cases of covid-19. This is an increase of 563 and a net decrease of 65 in the past 24 hours.
721,862 Utahns have been tested for covid-19. This is an increase of 4,989 in the past 24 hours.
This increased the positive test percentage to 8.09 percent. Sunday, this was at 8.07 percent. The 24-hour positive test percentage decreased to 11.28 percent. Sunday, this increased to 13.52 percent.
There have been 48,934 recoveries from covid-19 in Utah. This is an increase of 244 in the past 24 hours. In what is becoming a trend, the recovery percentage dropped to 83.73 percent. This is significantly down from Sunday’s 84.12 percent.
There are 9,068 active cases in Utah presently. This is an increase of 316 in the past 24 hours. This increased the active case percentage to 15.5 percent.
The differential between recoveries and active cases shrank to 39,866. This is a decrease of 72 in the differential in the past 24 hours.
Since statistics began being kept, there have been 3,338 recorded hospitalizations for covid-19 in Utah. This is an increase of 12 in the past 24 hours.
There are currently 134 hospitalizations for covid-19 in Utah. This is an increase of five in the past 24 hours. This caused the current hospitalization percentage to increase above 4 percent again. This is at 4.01 percent currently. Sunday, this was at 3.87 percent.
Of the 134, 54 are in ICU or 40.3 percent. ICU is currently 67.3 percent occupied in Utah.
The death count in Utah for fatalities attributed to covid-19 increased to 436. This is an increase of three in the past 24 hours and caused the death percentage to drop to 0.746 percent.
Wasatch County did not have its numbers for cases (671), hospitalizations (31) and deaths (7) increase for covid-19 in the past 24 hours.
The most recent death attributed to covid-19 in Wasatch County occurred August 28.
