SALT LAKE CITY-Saturday, statistics for covid-19 in Utah were updated by the state department of health.
Since statistics began being kept, there have been 57,247 recorded cases of covid-19 in Utah.
This is an increase of 572 in the past 24 hours and a net decrease of 86 in the same span.
There have been 712,229 Utahns tested for covid-19 per Saturday’s report. This is an increase of 4,422 Utahns in the past 24 hours.
This increased the positive test percentage to 8.03 percent Saturday.
The 24-hour positive test percentage dropped to 12.9 percent Saturday from Friday’s 16.2 percent.
There have been 48,396 recoveries from covid-19 in Utah. This is an increase of 375 in the past 24 hours.
The gap between all-time cases and recoveries increased to 8,851 Saturday. This is a net increase of 197 in the past 24 hours.
The recovery percentage dropped to 84.53 percent Saturday from Friday’s 84.73 percent.
There are currently 8,418 active cases of covid-19 in Utah. This is an increase of 195 in the past 24 hours.
This caused the active case percentage to increase to 14.7 percent.
There are currently 39,978 more recoveries than active cases in Utah. This represents an increase of 180 in the past 24 hours.
There have been 3,311 recorded hospitalizations for covid-19 in Utah since statistics began being kept. This is a net increase of 23 in the past 24 hours.
Presently, there are 120 current hospitalizations in Utah for covid-19, representing a net decrease of three in the past 24 hours.
The current covid-19 hospitalization percentage in Utah is 3.62 percent. This is down from Friday’s 3.74 percent.
Of the 120 current hospitalizations, 48 are in ICU. This did not change from Friday’s report, causing the ICU percentage to increase to 40 percent from Saturday’s 39 percent.
68.9 percent of ICU is currently hospitalized.
There are two new deaths attributed to covid-19 in Utah, raising the total to 433. This caused the death percentage in Utah to decrease to 0.756 percent from Friday’s 0.7604 percent.
There were four new recorded cases of covid-19 in Wasatch County Saturday, raising the total to 666. Of these, there have been 31 hospitalizations, a net decrease of one in the past 24 hours.
The death total remains at 7 for Wasatch County for fatalities attributed to covid-19. The most recent covid-19 attributed death in Wasatch County occurred August 28.
