WASATCH COUNTY, Utah-Tuesday, Wasatch County Sheriff’s Office officials confirmed a man was killed as a boat capsized on Strawberry Reservoir.
The incident commenced around 11:00 am as the boat capsized, dumping five people into the wire, per Wasatch County Sheriff’s Office Josh Probst.
The four who survived the capsizing reported everyone made it shore safely but a 69-year-old man began having difficulty breathing and eventually stopped breathing, Probst said.
This man later died despite CPR efforts to resuscitate him by family members and first responders.
Furthermore, Probst said survivors reported it took roughly 30 minutes for everyone to swim to shore following the capsizing.
Sheriff’s officials said the family had recently moved to Utah. The victim’s identity had not yet been released.
