SALT LAKE CITY-Sunday, updated covid-19 numbers were reported for Utah by the state department of health.
Since statistics began being kept, there have been 51,584 recorded cases of covid-19. This is an increase of 448 in the past 24 hours and a decrease of 10 in the same span.
There have been 655,507 Utahns tested for covid-19. This is an increase of 4,947 in the past 24 hours.
This increased the positive test percentage to 7.91 percent, up slightly from Saturday’s 7.90 percent.
The 24-hour positive test percentage decreased to 9.05 percent Sunday. This was at 16.26 percent Saturday.
There have been 43,724 recoveries from covid-19 in Utah per Sunday’s report. This is an increase of 382 in the past 24 hours and a net decrease of one recovery in the same span.
However, the recovery percentage increased to 84.32 percent Sunday, up 0.1 percent from Saturday’s 84.31 percent.
The gap between all-time cases and recoveries increased Sunday, to 8,130. This is a net increase of 66 in the past 24 hours.
There are currently 7,724 active cases of covid-19 in Utah. This represents a net increase of 66 in the past 24 hours. The active case percentage in Utah remained at 14.89 percent Sunday.
The differential between recovered cases and active cases in Utah increased to 36,000. This is a net increase of 316 in the past 24 hours.
There have been 3,080 recorded hospitalizations for covid-19 since statistics began being kept. This is an increase of 23 in the past 24 hours.
The current covid-19 hospitalizations dropped by three Sunday, to 116, or 3.76 percent. Saturday, this number was at 3.89 percent.
Symmetrically, ICU cases who are currently hospitalized for covid-19 dropped by three, to 45. Presently, 38.79 percent of all covid-19 cases currently hospitalized are in ICU. This is a decrease from Saturday’s 40.33 percent.
ICU is currently 62.7 percent occupied in Utah.
The death total in the past 48 hours remains unchanged, as it has stayed at 407 all weekend in Utah. This decreased the death percentage to 0.784 percent. Saturday, this was at 0.791 percent.
Wasatch County saw four new cases of covid-19 in the past 24 hours, raising the total to 633 all-time covid-19 cases. The hospitalizations (25) and deaths (7) remain unchanged in the past 24 hours in Wasatch County. The most recent death attributed to covid-19 in Wasatch County occurred August 28.
