Caribbean Latter-day Saint Youth Learn How To Strengthen Faith

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic-August 21, young Spanish-speaking members in the Caribbean of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and members of the Assemblies of God were invited to participate in a youth-formatted Q&A session concerning how to strengthen faith in Christ.

16-year-old Bryan Beras of San Pedro De Marcos, Dominican Republic, a member of the Assemblies of God, hosted this event, along with 17-year-old Latter-day Saint Yissella Melendez of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

Melendez cited the importance of religious tolerance while interaction from adults also occurred during this event.

These included Elder Jorge M. Alvarado of the Seventy and Dominican Assemblies of God pastor Nersido Borg.

Elder Alvarado, a native of Puerto Rico, said youth have an innate desire to connect with God, reminding his audience that life does not end with death.
