Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ First Presidency Announces Limited Reopening of Temples

SALT LAKE CITY-Monday, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced three temples will open to Phase 1 August 17. Meanwhile, 17 others will advance to Phase 2 August 17.

The Salt Lake City-based faith specifies that Phase 1 consists of living husband-and-wife sealings by appointment.

Phase 2 consists of being open for all living ordinances only with restrictions.

The temples to advance to Phase 1 August 17 include: the Bern, Switzerland Temple, the Oaxaca, Mexico Temple and the Tuxtla Gutierrez Temple.

The temples to advance to Phase 2 August 17 include many Utah temples, including the Provo Utah Temple which Heber Valley Latter-day Saints attend.
