Saturday covid-19 statistical update

SALT LAKE CITY-Saturday, the Utah Department of Health released the latest statistics for covid-19 in the Beehive State.

Since statistics have been kept, there have been 40,702 recorded cases of covid-19 in Utah.

This is an increase of 506 cases in the past 24 hours and a net increase of six in the same span.

There have been 533,260 tests administered for covid-19 in the Beehive State. This is an increase of 4,350 tests in the past 24 hours.

This increased the positive test percentage to 7.63 percent. Friday, this was at 7.59 percent. The 24-hour positive test percentage slightly increased to 11.63 percent Saturday. Friday, this number was at 11 percent.

There have been 28,747 recoveries from covid-19 in Utah per Saturday’s totals. This is an increase of 617 in the past 24 hours and a net decrase of 117 in the past 24 hours.

This caused the recovery percentage to exceed 70 percent for the first time in state history. Saturday, this figure was at 70.06 percent. The recovery percentage was 69.97 percent Friday.

There are presently 11,646 active cases of covid-19 in Utah. This is a decrease of 144 in the past 24 hours and dropped the active case percentage to 28.61 percent in the Beehive State.

There are presently 17,101 more recovered cases than active cases in Utah, representing a +734 differential in the past 24 hours.

There have been 2,412 hospitalizations from covid-19 in the Beehive State since statistics began being kept. This represents a net increase of 35 hospitalizations in the past 24 hours.

There are 210 current hospitalizations, which is a -3 decrease in the past 24 hours. This dropped the current hospitalization percentage to 8.7 percent. The ICU cases of current covid-19 hospitalizations increased to 82, a net increase of one in the past 24 hours. This caused a slight increase in the current covid-19 hospitalization percentage in ICU, rising to 39.04 percent.

Friday, this number was at 38.02 percent.

Presently, 67 percent of ICU is occupied in the Beehive State.

There are now 310 deaths attributed to covid-19 in Utah, a net incrase of six in the past 24 hours. This caused the death percentage to increase to 0.761 percent. Friday, this number was at 0.756 percent.

Wasatch County had a perfect day in regard to covid-19 Saturday. The net cases (525), hospitalizations (20) and deaths (4) all remained unchanged in the past 24 hours for Wasatch County.

The most recent death attributed to covid-19 in Wasatch County occurred July 6.
