Saturday Stats Updated For covid-19

SALT LAKE CITY-Saturday, statistics were updated in the Beehive State for covid-19 by the Utah Department of Health.

Since statistics have been kept, there have been 37,623 recorded cases of covid-19. This is an increase of 661 cases in the past 24 hours and a net decrease of 202 in the same span.

There have been 500,139 people tested for covid-19 in Utah. This is an increase of 6,068 in the past 24 hours.

This raised the overall positive test percentage to 7.52 percent. Friday, this was at 7.52 percent.

The 24-hour positive test percentage increased to 10.89 percent Saturday. Friday, this number checked in at 9.97 percent.

There have been 24,390 recoveries from covid-19 in the Beehive State per Saturday’s report. This represents a state-record 675 recoveries in a 24-hour period. There was also a net increase of 53 recoveries in the same span. This raises the overall recovery percentage to 64.82 percent in Utah.

There are currently 12,960 active cases of covid-19 in Utah. This is a net decrease of 15 in the past 24 hours and a net decrease of 160 in the same span.

This dropped the active case percentage to 34.44 percent in Utah. There are presently 11,430 more recovered cases than active cases in Utah. This is an increase of 690 in the past 24 hours. Every day in July thus far, the new recovered cases in a 24-hour period have exceeded the new active cases.

There have been 2,213 hospitalizations recorded in the Beehive State sice statistics began being kept. This represents a net increase of 25 in the past 24 hours.

There are currently 202 hospitalizations from covid-19 in Utah. This is a net decrease of 23 in the past 24 hours, dropping the current hospitalzation percentage in the Beehive State to 9.12 percent. Friday, this number was at 10.28 percent.

The current covid-19 hospitalizations in ICU decreased by 18 in the past 24 hours as there are currently 79 covid-19 hospitalizations in ICU. This dropped the ICU percentage to 39.1 percent. Presently, 67.4 percent of ICU is filled up in the Beehive State.

There was one new death attributed to covid-19 in Utah, raising the death total to 274. This dropped the death rate percentage to 0.728 percent Saturday. Friday, this number was at 0.738 percent.

In Wasatch County, there were four new recorded cases of covid-19 in the Beehive State. This increased the number to 512 net cases in Wasatch County. The hospitalizations (20) and deaths (4) remained unchanged in the past 24 hours.

The most recent death attributed to covid-19 in Wasatch County occurred July 6.
