SALT LAKE CITY-Wednesday, statistics for covid-19 in Utah were updated for the Beehive State by the state department of health.
Since statistics have been kept in Utah for covid-19, there have been 35,578 recorded cases. This is an increase of 566 cases in the past 24 hours and a net increase of 80 cases in the same span.
There have been 481,402 people tested for covid-19 in the Beehive State. This is an increase of 5,959 tests in the past 24 hours.
This increased the overall positive test percentage to 7.39 percent. Tuesday, this was at 7.36 percent. The 24-hour positive test percentage increased to 9.49 percent. Tuesday, this was at 8.04 percent.
There have been 22,532 recoveries from covid-19 in Utah. This is an increase of 500 recoveries in the past 24 hours and a net decrease of 28 recoveries in the same span.
The recovery percentage increased to 63.33 percent. Tuesday, this number was at 62.92 percent.
There are 12,788 active cases of covid-19 in the Beehive State as of Wednesday’s report. This is an increase of 58 active cases in the past 24 hours and a net increase of 56 active cases in the same span.
The active case percentage in Utah fell to 35.94 percent Wednesday. Tuesday, this percentage was at 36.358 percent.
There are presently 9,744 more recovered cases than active cases. This is an increase of 442 in the past 24 hours.
Since statistics began being kept in the Beehive State for covid-19, there have been 2,135 hospitalizations. This is an increase of 26 in the past 24 hours.
There are 197 current hospitalizations. for the virus in Utah. This is an increase of 11 in the past 24 hours, increasing the current hospitalization percentage to 9.22 percent.
There are presently 94 ICU covid-19 hospitalizations. This is a decrease of two in the past 24 hours, dropping the ICU percentage for current covid-19 hospitalizations to 47.7 percent. Presently, 62 percent of ICU is full.
There were nine new deaths in Utah attributed to covid-19. This increased the death total to 260 in the Beehive State from the virus. This increased the death percentage to 0.7307.
Tuesday, this number was at 0.716.
Wasatch County saw two new cases of covid-19 as reflected in Wednesday’s totals. This increased the net total of cases in Wasatch County to 497 cases. The hospitalizations (20) and deaths attributed to covid-19 in Wasatch County (4) remained unchanged in the past 24 hours.
The last death attributed to covid-19 in Wasatch County occurred July 6.
