CEDAR CITY, Utah-Southern Utah University officials are exploring the possibility of merging their campus police force with the Cedar City Police Department.
SUU president Scott Wyatt began discussing this possibility in May with Cedar City Police Chief Darin Adams.
The Cedar City Police Department is only three blocks from campus in downtown Cedar City.
Wyatt says he is committed to receiving the input of students, staff, faculty and the public for at least several weeks as soon as he receives a proposal from the Cedar City Police Department on the matter.
