Wednesday COVID-19 Stats For Utah

HEBER CITY, Utah-Wednesday, updated statistics for covid-19 in the Beehive State were released by the Utah Department of Health.

Since statistics began being kept, there have been 30,891 recorded cases of covid-19 in Utah. This is an increase of 413 cases in the past 24 hours and a net decrease of 35 in the same span.

For the fifth consecutive day, Utah has seen a net decrease in the daily new recorded cases of covid-19. This is a -454 differential since last Friday.

There are currently 18,593 recoveries from the virus in Utah. This is an increase of 482 in the past 24 hours and a net increase of 99 in the same span. Currently, 60.18 percent of covid-19 cases in Utah are recovered.

There are 12,066 active cases in the Beehive State per Thursday’s statistics. This is a decrease of 76 in the past 24 hours and a net decrease of -11 in the past 24 hours.

This dropped the active cases percentage in Utah to 39.05 percent.

There are presently 6,527 more recovered cases in Utah than active cases. This is a net increase of 558 in the past 24 hours.

There have now been 432,080 total tests for covid-19 in Utah. This is a net increase of 7,559 tests in the past 24 hours. This caused the overall positive test percentage to drop to 7.14 percent Wednesday. The 24-hour positive test percentage dropped to 5.46 percent. Tuesday, this number was at 7.24 percent.

Since statistics began being kept for covid-19 in the Beehive State, there have been 1,913 hospitalizations. This is a net increase of 25 in the past 24 hours.

Interestingly, the net current hospitalizations exceeded the net hospitalizations in the past 24 hours as there are 28 new current hospitalizations in Utah from covid-19.

The current hospitalization percentage is 10.66 percent as this had been at 9.32 percent Tuesday.

Despite current hospitalizations for covid-19 increasing in ICU in the past 24 hours, from 80 to 83, the ICU covid-19 current hospitalization percentage decreased to 40.68 percent from Tuesday’s 45.45 percent.

Currently, 65.6 percent of all ICU capacity is being used in Utah.

Utah experienced seven new deaths attributed to covid-19 in the past 24 hours. This raised the death total number to 233 deaths. This resulted in the death percentage, which still leads the nation, to 0.754 percent. Tuesday, this number was at 0.741 percent.

In Wasatch County, there is one new case of covid-19 in the past 24 hours as recorded in Thursday’s report. This raises Wasatch County’s net case total to 465 since statistics began being kept. The hospitalizations (20) and deaths (4) remain unchanged from Tuesday’s statistics.

The most recent death attributed to covid-19 in Wasatch County occurred July 6.
