ST. GEORGE, Utah-The second temple for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will be called the Red Cliffs Utah Temple.
This name was approved by the Church’s First Presidency in June.
Upon its completion, The Red Cliffs Temple, located at the corner of 3000 East and 1580 South in St . George will be around 90,000 square feet and cover 14 acres.
This temple was announced during the Church’s semiannual General Conference in October 2018.
Construction, for the time being, has primarily consisted of raising the grade of the property.
There is no official date for the groundbreaking ceremony for this temple as of yet.
The St. George Temple closed in November 2019 and is expected to be reopened in 2022.
