YUBA CITY, Calif.-This past May, members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints helped remove cabinets and doors, furniture, pews and the floor from the gymnasium from the Yuba City California Stake Center.
This resulted in the razing of this building for the construction of the Salt Lake City-based faith’s Feather River California Temple in Yuba City.
The invitation-only groundbreaking ceremony for the temple is slated for Saturday in this community, located roughly 40 miles north of the California capital city, Sacramento, in northern California.
The temple will be constructed at the base of the Sutter Buttes.
The Tumbers, Sikhs who owned the land on which the stake center was first built, continue to have a good relationship with Latter-day Saints in the area.
