SALT LAKE CITY-Wednesday, stats for COVID-19 in Utah were updated by the Utah Department of Health.
Since statistics have been kept, there have been 26,755 cases of COVID-19 recorded in the Beehive State.
This is an increase of 722 cases in the past 24 hours (a state record) and a net increase of 158 cases in the same span.
There have now been 15,178 recovered cases from COVID-19 in the Beehive State. This is an increase of 414 in the past 24 hours and a net increase of 98 recoveries in the same span.
Presently, 56.72 percent of all cases of COVID-19 in Utah are recovered cases.
There are currently 11,377 active cases of COVID-19 in Utah. This is an increase of 302 active cases in the past 24 hours and a net increase of 59 in the same span.
Currently, the COVID-19 active case percentage in Utah is 42.5 percent.
There have been 385,760 total tests administered for COVID-19 in the Beehive State since statistics began being kept.
This is an increase of 2,911 total tests in the same span.
This caused the overall positive test percentage to increase to 6.93 percent and the overall 24-hour positive test percentage skyrocketed to 24.8 percent from Tuesday’s 8.04 percent.
Since statistics began being kept, there have been 1,678 hospitalizations. This is an increase of 25 in the past 24 hours.
There are presently 199 current hospitalizations, or an increase of two in the past 24 hours. This caused the current hospitalization percentage to stay below 12 percent for the fourth consecutive day. Wednesday’s current hospitalization percentage checked in at 11.85 percent.
In the past 24 hours, current COVID-19 hospitalizations in ICU decreased to 86 which is a -7 decrease. The current ICU percentage of current hospitalizations for the virus is 38.19 percent. This is a tremendous decrease from Tuesday’s 42.63 percent.
There were seven new deaths recorded in Utah from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, raising the total to 201 deaths. This caused the overall death rate, which still leads the nation, to rise to 0.00751 percent. Tuesday’s total was 0.007452 percent.
Wasatch County has seven new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, raising the net total to 436 cases since statistics began being kept. Wasatch County’s hospitalizations (20) and deaths (4) remained unchanged in the past 24 hours.
