SALT LAKE CITY-Monday, the Utah Department of Health released updated statistics for COVID-19 in the Beehive State.
This includes the fourth COVID-19 death suffered in Wasatch County.
In a statement from Wasatch County Health Department officer Randall Probst, this death was an older high-risk man between the ages of 65 and 84 who died at the time of hospitalizaton.
Probst stated “We are very saddened by the passing of another community member and dear friend to COVID-19. It is a powerful reminder that it can take anyone at any time. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and to all who are suffering the effects of this pandemic.”
Currently, Wasatch County has had 426 net cases of COVID-19. This is an increase of four in the past 24 hours. The hospitalizations remain unchanged in the past 24 hours, staying at 20.
Statewide, since statistics have been kept, there have been 25,469 recorded cases of COVID-19 in Utah.
This is an increase of 517 in the past 24 hours and a net increase of 107 cases in the past 24 hours.
There are presently 14,448 recovered cases from COVID-19 in the Beehive State. This is an increase of 301 in the past 24 hours and a net decrease of 39 recoveries in the same span.
This caused the recovery percentage of COVID-19 cases in Utah to rise to 56.72 percent.
Presently, there are 10,832 active cases of COVID-19 in Utah. This is an increase of 211 active cases in the past 24 hours and a net increase of 145 active cases in the same span.
Currently, 42.53 percent of all COVID-19 cases in Utah are active.
Since statistics have been kept, there have been 375,842 total tests for COVID-19 in Utah. This is an increase of 4,534 tests in the past 24 hours.
This caused the overall test percentage to rise to 6.77 percent. The 24-hour positive test percentage significantly rose Monday, checking in at 11.4 percent. Sunday’s total was 8.93 percent in the previous 24-hour period.
Since statistics have been kept for COVID-19 in Utah, there have been 1,604 recorded hospitalizations. This is a net increase of 22 hospitalizations in the past 24 hours.
The current hospitalizations checked in at 192 Monday. This is an increase of 9 in the past 24 hours. However, the current hospitalization percentage stayed below 12 percent Monday, checking in at 11.97 percent.
Current hospitalizations in ICU dropped by one in the past 24 hours, to 83. This caused a significant drop in the overall ICU among COVID-19 cases percentage. Monday, it stands at 43.2 percent, having been at 45.9 percent Sunday.
There have been 190 deaths attributed to COVID-19 in Utah since records began being kept for the virus. This is an increase of six in the past 24 hours. This caused the overall death rate percentage to increase to 0.00746 percent. Sunday, this number was at 0.007374 percent.
