SALT LAKE CITY-Tuesday, the Utah Department of Health released its latest statistics for COVID-19 and Wasatch County Health Department did as well.
Per Wasatch County Health Department Health Education and Media Relations Coordinator Trudy Brereton, 81.6 percent (333 of 408 cases) of total COVID-19 cases in Wasatch County are recovered.
There remain 20 hospitalizations and 3 deaths from COVID-19 in Wasatch County. The most recent death in Wasatch County occurred June 19.
Since statistics have been kept, there have been 22,217 recorded cases of COVID-19 in the Beehive State. This is a slight decrease in the past 24 hours as the cases fell to 553, a net decrease of 9 in the same span.
There have been 12,398 recoveries from COVID-19 in Utah as reflected in Tuesday’s statistics. This is an increase of 193 recoveries in the past 24 hours. It represents a net decrease of 80 recoveries in the same span.
Currently, 55.79 percent of all COVID-19 cases in Utah are recovered cases.
There are presently 9,647 active cases of COVID-19 in the Beehive State. This is an increase of 356 in the past 24 hours and a net increase of 67 in the same span.
Presently, 43.42 percent of all COVID-19 cases in Utah are active cases.
There have been 340,753 total tests administered for COVID-19 in the Beehive State. This is an increase of 6,847 tests in the past 24 hours.
This caused the overall positive test percentage to slightly rise to 6.51 percent. The 24-hour positive test percentage significantly dropped Tuesday as it checked in at 8.07 percent. Monday, this number was at 6.51 percent.
There have been 1,444 hospitalizations in Utah since statistics for COVID-19 began being kept. This is an increase of 27 hospitalizations in the past 24 hours.
However, the current hospitalizations only increased by 12 to 205 current hospitalizations. The current hospitalization percentage rose significantly, checking in at 14.19 percent Tuesday.
The ICU percentage of current COVID-19 hospitalizations dropped from 41.4 percent to 40.4 percent as there are presently 83 current COVID hospitalizations in ICU per Tuesday’s numbers.
There were four new deaths in Utah Tuesday from COVID-19 increasing the total to 172 deaths. However, this caused the nation’s top death rate from COVID-19 to decrease from Monday’s totals as it fell to 0.00774 percent.
