Orem Woman Faces More Than 400 Counts of Forgery and Identity Fraud

OREM, Utah-Sunday, 48-year-old Vicki Sue Bennett of Orem was booked into the Utah County Jail for investigation of 283 counts of forgery, 176 counts of identity fraud and theft.

Police were summoned to MCR Recycling, 550 N. Geneva Road in Orem, where Bennett previously worked, per a police affidavit.

Authorities learned Bennett had created 283 false receipts from the names of 176 customers.

This resulted in a net loss of $66,750 to the company per the affidavit.

The owners of the company had compiled two flash drives worth of video surveillance footage for police to search through.

The affidavit confirms management looking at a motion activated camera placed within a cabinet where the money bag was stored.

The camera was activated and captured Bennett taking money from the bag, concealing it within her sweatshirt sleeve.

Another motion activated camera, stationed near Bennett’s desk depicted her reaching into her sleeve and placing money on the inside of her purse, the affidavit stated.
