PAPEETE, Tahiti-June 12, French Polynesia president Edouard Fritch invited a delegation from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, led by Arue Tahiti Stake President Henrie Estall to discuss COVID-19, the severity of the looming social crisis and the conditions of economic recovery.
The two leaders reviewed French Polynesia’s present response to the virus. Presently, Tahiti has 60 cases of COVID-19 and no deaths
President Estall then explained how members of the Church are instilling hope and peace among their fellow French Polynesians.
Fritch then told the group that French Polynesians would celebrate Autonomy Day June 29 and the Salt Lake City-based faith, as well as all other churches in the nation, will participate in this celebration.
