Sunday Stats For COVID-19 In Utah

SALT LAKE CITY-Sunday, the daily statistics for COVID-19 in Utah were released by the Utah Department of Health.

Presently, there have been 14,313 recorded cases of COVID-19 in Utah since statistics have been kept. This is an increase of 332 cases in the past 24 hours but a net decrease of 72 cases in the same span.

There are presently 8,252 recovered cases in Utah from the virus. This is an increase of 138 recoveries in the past 24 hours but a net decrease of 41 in that same span. This caused the overall recovery cases percentage to drop to 57.65 percent. Saturday’s totals checked in at 58.03 percent.

There are currently 5,922 active cases in Utah. This is an increase of 194 from Saturday’s totals, but a net decrease of 31 in the past 24 hours. Presently, 41.37 percent of COVID-19 in Utah are active.

There are presently 2,330 more net recoveries in Utah from COVID-19 than there are active cases.

There have now been 267,713 total tests administered for COVID-19 in the Beehive State. This is an increase of 4,931 tests in the past 24 hours.

This resulted in the overall positive test percentage in Utah slightly increasing to 5.34 percent from Saturday’s 5.32 percent.

However, Utah saw some optimistic signs in the 24-hour positive test percentage. Sunday, this dropped to 6.7 percent of cases occurring. Saturday’s totals checked in at 10.1 percent.

Since statistics have been kept for COVID-19 in Utah, there have now been 1,028 hospitalizations. This represents a net increase of 16 in the past 24 hours. However, the current hospitalizations only rose to 137, a net increase of 5 in the same span. Presently, 13.3 percent of Utahns who have been hospitalized for COVID-19 are currently hospitalized.

The Beehive State recorded no new deaths from COVID-19 for the second consecutive day. The death count remains at 139 for Utah. This means that only 0.097 percent of those who have had COVID-19 in Utah have passed away.

Wasatch County saw six new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. This brings the net total to 349 cases since statistics have been kept. There are now 17 hospitalizations in Wasatch County from the virus, an increase of two in the past 24 hours.

There have been two deaths from COVID-19 in Wasatch County. The most recent death occurred May 31.
