Arkansas City Food Pantry Receives Large Donation From Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

ARKANSAS CITY, Kan.-June 3, members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints donated a large supply of food to assist with community food bank needs in Arkansas City, Kan.

Members of the Salt Lake City-based faith located in Arkansas City, Winfield and Wichita, Kan. were present to unload the food for Angels In the Attic, a local non-profit thrift store and food pantry in Arkansas City.

The Church also made a smaller donation to Joseph’s Storehouse of Burton, Kan.

Arkansas City Branch President Benjamin Pieper expressed his gratitude for assisting in this process, saying “We are pleased to be able to work shoulder-to-shoulder with them [the food banks] to provide essential services to those in need.”

Arkansas City is in the Derby Kansas Stake of the Church and is about 63 miles southeast of Wichita.
