HEBER CITY, Utah-Tuesday, the latest COVID-19 stats for the state of Utah were released.
For the third consecutive day, the net positive cases from the previous day decreased.
There have now been 12,559 positive cases in Utah from COVID-19. This is an increase of 237 from Monday’s totals but represents a -19 net decrease in positive cases from the previous day.
There are presently 7,391 recovered cases from COVID-19 in the Beehive State. This is an increase of 136 from Monday’s totals. While it is a -11 decrease from the net recoveries from Monday, the recovery percentage remains at 58.8 percent.
Presently, there are 5,041 active cases of COVID-19 in Utah. This is an increase of 98 but is a -8 decrease from Monday’s totals.
For the fourth consecutive day, the net recoveries from COVID-19 outnumber the increase in new cases of the virus in the Beehive State.
There have now been 246,860 total tests administered for COVID-19 in Utah. This is an increase of 3,961 total tests in the past 24 hours.
This caused the overall positive test percentage to slightly increase to 5.087 percent. Furthermore, the 24-hour positive test percentage also experienced a slight increase. It rose to 5.98 percent Friday whereas Monday’s 24-hour positive test percentage from Sunday was 5.17 percent.
Utah did have a setback in regard to current hospitalizations however. There are now 931 hospitalizations in the Beehive State from COVID-19 which is an increase of 13. The current hospitalizations rose to 126 which is an increase of 14 net hospitalizations.
This increased the current hospitalization percentage in Utah to 13.5 percent from Monday’s 12.2 percent.
There are three new deaths in Utah from the virus, bringing the total to 127.
These deaths are a Utah County man between the ages of 18-60 who was not hospitalized at the time of his death, a Davis County death (over 85) and a Salt Lake County death (60-85).
The other two deaths were both in long-term healthcare facilities.
Wasatch County has had 335 cases of COVID-19, which is an increase of three from Monday’s total. Presently, there are 15 hospitalizations and two deaths in the county from COVID-19. The most recent of the deaths occurred May 31.
Per information from Wasatch County Health Department health education and media relations coordinator Trudy Brereton, there have been 201 recoveries from the virus. This means 60 percent of Wasatch County’s COVID-19 cases have recovered.
