Wasatch County Suffers Second COVID-19 Death Sunday

SALT LAKE CITY-Sunday, the COVID-19 statistics for the day in Utah were released.

The state’s net death total increased to 113, an increase of one in the past 24 hours. This death was a Wasatch County resident, a male under the age of 65. This gives Wasatch County two deaths from COVID-19, with the first having occurred April 10. Wasatch County’s COVID-19 cases increased by 10 in the past 24 hours as there are now 282 cases of the virus in the county. This includes 13 hospitalizations, as well as the two deaths.

Presently, there are 9,797 cases for COVID-19 in the Beehive State. This is an increase of 264 cases in the past 24 hours, but a net decrease of 5 cases from the previous day’s total.

Of these, 6,137 Utahns have recovered from COVID-19, or 62.6 percent. The net total of recovery cases increased to 142 in the past hours, when 75 had recovered from Friday-Saturday. This is a net increase of 52.8 percent.

There are presently 3,660 cases of COVID-19 in Utah with 213,914 total tests having been administered for the virus. This means that 17.1 percent of those tested in Utah for COVID-19 currently have a case.

The net positive percentage for COVID-19 in Utah rose to 4.579 percent. With 3,809 tests administered in the past 24 hours for the virus, the net positive test percentage in that span is 6.93 percent.

There have been 775 hospitalizations in Utah for COVID-19. This is an increase of 12 in the past 24 hours. However, only 98 are currently hospitalized from COVID-19 in the Beehive State, or 12.64 percent.
