GRANTSVILLE, Utah-Per news released Wednesday, an official notice of closure was issued concerning the proposed concert scheduled for May 30 at the Amphitheater at Studio Ranch outside of Grantsville.
This event, per the Tooele County Department of Health, falls under the definition of a “temporary mass gathering” as defined in R392-400.
Temporary mass gatherings, as defined by R392-400, pose an imminent health hazard at this stage because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
On May 15, the health department states, Utah Gov. Gary Herbert issued an executive order designating Tooele County in the yellow (low-risk) phase aligned with the Utah Leads Together 2.0 guidance.
Following the Utah Leads Together guideline, there shall be “no temporary mass gatherings as defined in Rule R392-400,” the health department confirmed.
Jason Manning, the owner of the Amphitheater, responded, saying “Tooele County needs to expect a lawsuit very soon.” Manning declined to comment further.
The Raye concert, organized by Utah Business Revival, announced this concert had been moved from Kaysville May 21.
The concert is scheduled for 6:00 pm with organizers saying free space would be available for up to 300 businesses to set up booths.
The event is aimed at highlighting small businesses, giving them a “safe, outdoor opportunity to provide for their families and pay their mortgages.”
