Sandy police confirmed the 17-year-old boy has died. Officers are looking for an older model green and gold Ford Explorer in connection with the shooting.

Friday, Sandy Police are searching for a suspect in a shooting which sent a teenager to the hospital in critical condition.
The shooting occurred on the 1100 block of Saphire Drive, Sandy Police confirmed on Twitter.
Sandy Police investigating shooting just occurred on 1100 block of Saphire Drive. 17 yrs old Male transported in critical condition. Suspect outstanding.

A 17-year-old male was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
The suspect fled the area, but there is no concern for the safety of residents in the area, police said.
Saphire Drive will be closed for several hours, police confirmed.
