Wasatch County Moves To Yellow; Summit County As Well

HEBER CITY, Utah-Thursday evening, Utah Gov. Gary Herbert moved Wasatch County, and neighboring Summit County, to yellow, or “low risk” under his Utah Leads Together color wheel.

This means that youth sports may return to the Heber Valley and people may gather in groups of up to 50 if they so choose.

Social distancing must still be maintained and face coverings should be worn when social distancing is difficult to maintain.

Symptom checks should occur prior to team sport competitions or practices. K-12 schools’ reopening should be anticipated for the 2021-22 school year.

The Wasatch Aquatic Center, located at 744 S. 200 East in Heber City, can now be reopened, with social distancing applied.

As the Utah Area Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints confirmed Wednesday, church services for the faith may reconvene in the Heber Valley based on the decisions of stake presidencies. Per Church policy, Sacrament meeting is not to be streamed.

Other churches in the Heber Valley, Heber Valley Baptist Church, Independent Baptist Church, Saint Lawrence Church (Catholic), Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, High Pointe Church, Grace Family Bible Church, Calvary Chapel New Life (Midway) and Mountain View Fellowship, may also meet, under this new legislation. These churches may also stream services if they so choose under low-risk.

All businesses, if they so choose, are permitted to open. This includes restaurants. Residents may dine in if they so choose. However, they must remember to maintain social distancing and follow proper hygiene protocol.

In the workplace, flexible work arrangements should be made. Hygiene guidelines should also be followed and social distancing should be maintained.

The vulnerable population should also be protected during this time.

Please recreate safely, Heber Valley!
