SALT LAKE CITY-Monday, daily COVID-19 statistics were released for the Beehive State by the Utah Department of Health.
Currently, 7,384 Utahns have tested positive for COVID-19. This is an increase of 146 cases from Sunday’s totals, but represents a -24 decrease in the net positive cases in the past 24 hours.
Presently, 174,022 tests for COVID-19 have been administered in Utah. This leaves Utah at a 4.24 positive test percentage. This is a slight increase of Sunday’s 4.38 total positive test percentage.
However, there were only 3,270 tests administered in the past 24 hours as the smaller amount caused the percentage to slightly increase.
In the past 24 hours, 4.46 percent of Utahns tested positive for COVID-19. This is a significant increase from the 4.27 percent that did so from Saturday-Sunday.
There are now 595 total hospitalizations for COVID-19 in the Beehive State. This is an increase of 9 hospitalizations from Sunday’s totals.
There are no new deaths from COVID-19 in Utah in the past 24 hours as this total remains at 80 headed into Tuesday.
Wasatch County had a promising day as there was only one new case for COVID-19 in the county. Wasatch County presently has 203 positive COVID-19 cases and 10 hospitalizations. There remains only one death, which occurred April 10.
Utah Gov. Gary Herbert’s office told media throughout the state, including Heber Valley Radio, that there will only be one briefing per week. This week’s briefing will occur Wednesday and on Wednesdays thereafter until further notice.
