VINEYARD, Utah (AP) — A person was shot and killed during a home invasion Tuesday, police said.
Several others were taken into custody after the slaying at an apartment complex in Vineyard, Utah County Sheriff’s Sgt. Spencer Cannon told the Daily Herald. One was arrested near the scene, and two to four others were apprehended in Sandy, Cannon said.
Their names and other details have not been released. Police did not immediately say whether the slain person was a suspect or a victim in the home invasion.
The person was shot and killed near the front doorway of the apartment. It’s unclear why people were trying to break in. Some other people living in the complex were temporarily forced from their homes during the investigation.
