A Monroe woman is now in jail after she ran an ex-boyfriend’s car off the road and refused to stop for police on Thursday.
According to the Sevier County Sheriff’s Office, Melissa Douglas was chasing her ex-boyfriend and his sister out of Monroe when she ran them off the road around 5 p.m.
She and the sister both got out of their cars and yelled at each other in the middle of the road before Douglas drove away with a flat tire.
She then continued driving with the flat on highway 118 and refused to pull over for a Sheriff’s deputy.
Several people called 911 after they saw the red minivan driving recklessly and almost causing several car crashes North of Monroe.
Douglas was booked into the Sevier County Jail on charges of reckless driving, fleeing and driving on a suspended license.
